Yuba City Firefighters - Local 3739
Dear Brother, Sisters and Friends of the Yuba City Firefighters,
The past year has been one of many changes for Local 3793 and the City of Yuba City. In 2006 we saw a changing of the guard with the hiring of a new City Manager and the election of three new members to the City Council. We also saw the hiring of four firefighters to fill a vacancy and increase the staffing at Station 3. The increased staffing that has been implemented the last two years at Stations 2 and 3 shows the continued commitment from the City to staff all engines with three professional firefighters. Station 7 is planned for the next firefighter staffing increase in Fiscal Year 2007-08. The increase from two to three person engine staffing not only significantly improves the delivery of fire and life safety services to the citizens we serve, but it also improves overall firefighter safety.
I'm proud to say that the Local 3793 members showed more commitment to the citizens of Yuba City than ever before. The participation in Pink October, Relay for Life, the TIP Dinner, Adopt-A-Highway and other events didn't go unnoticed. I hope for an even better 2007. We're committed to continue to do great things for our community so that Yuba City will be an even better place to live, work and play. The members of Local 3793 are the finest fire service professionals I know and I am especially proud of those who continue to strive to protect and serve to the best of their abilities both on and off duty. Thank you for another outstanding year of service.
Fraternally,

Dave Newquist, President
